The Grounds People is a female-owned and led independent grounds and estate consultancy, built around practical industry knowledge, clear advice and a commitment to helping clients make better-informed decisions.

We combine commercial and operational understanding with a straightforward, evidence-led approach to grounds maintenance contracts. From reviewing existing arrangements and preparing specifications to managing procurement and monitoring service delivery, our focus is on clarity, accountability and value for our clients.

We work solely in the interests of our clients, providing independent advice without undertaking grounds maintenance ourselves or accepting contractor referral commissions.

Effective grounds maintenance procurement requires more than a well-written specification. It requires an understanding of how contractors price work, allocate resources, deliver services and manage the practical demands of a site.

Our consultancy draws on practical landscaping experience and commercial grounds maintenance knowledge to help clients assess existing arrangements, develop realistic specifications, evaluate contractor proposals and establish clear performance expectations.

Poor service does not always mean a poor contractor. Sometimes the specification is outdated, the scope is unclear or the agreed standards are not being measured properly. Our role is to establish the facts and recommend practical improvements.

We do not sell preferred supplier listings. Material contractor relationships and potential conflicts must be assessed, disclosed where relevant and managed with appropriate safeguards before recommendations are made.
