Register interest in our developing contractor network
We help organisations review, procure and manage grounds maintenance contracts, with a focus on building a strong regional network. To support this work, we are building a network of professional contractors whose experience, capabilities and compliance can be assessed against the requirements of individual contracts.
We support organisations across the Midlands and selected areas of central and eastern England, extending into Yorkshire.
This is our intended service area, not a claim of existing clients or contractors in every location. Enquiries outside our main area are welcome for individual consideration.
Intended regional coverage
- East Midlands
- Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland
- West Midlands
- Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and the wider West Midlands area
- Yorkshire
- North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire
- East of England
- Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and surrounding areas where practical
Tell us where your business fits
Register your business to tell us where you operate, what services you provide and the types of contracts you are equipped to deliver. When suitable opportunities arise, eligible contractors may be considered for relevant tender exercises in their area.
- Be considered for suitable grounds maintenance contract opportunities.
- Tell us which areas you cover and the services you specialise in.
- Keep business information and compliance documentation up to date.
- Be considered for opportunities that align with your capabilities and capacity.
- Build a professional relationship with an independent grounds maintenance consultancy.
A network supporting client procurement
The Grounds People is a client-side consultancy, not a grounds maintenance provider. This is not a paid contractor directory: we do not sell preferred supplier listings or accept contractor referral commissions.
Registration is an application, not a vetted or approved designation. Checks are recorded before any category approval, and suitability must be reassessed for the requirements of each contract.
Material relationships or potential conflicts are assessed and disclosed where relevant, with safeguards recorded. Clients retain the final contractor appointment decision.
Registration does not guarantee tender invitations, contract awards or a minimum volume of work.
Sign in or create an account to submit securely and return to update your information. Compliance documents are stored privately.

How contractor selection works
- Start with your requirements. Agree the location, scope, standards, budget, capacity and evaluation criteria for the contract.
- Assess suitable contractors. Consider geographic coverage, relevant experience, capability, capacity and the evidence available. Registration alone is not approval or proof of suitability.
- Record relevant checks. Review applicable business, insurance, health and safety, qualifications and reference information. Category approval must be reconsidered against each contract’s requirements.
- Disclose and manage interests. Identify relevant relationships or potential conflicts, disclose them to the client and record appropriate safeguards. Selection is not based on payment for inclusion or referral commissions.
- Support the client’s decision. Compare submissions against the agreed criteria, record limitations and unresolved questions, and leave the final appointment decision with the client.
The network is developing; registration numbers and local availability are not a promise that a suitable contractor is available for every site.
