Terms of Use & Advisory Scope

Important information regarding the use of our website and the nature of our independent grounds-maintenance consultancy.

1. Independent Advisory Role

Client-Side Consultancy

The Grounds People provides independent client-side grounds-maintenance contract review, specification, procurement, and oversight services. We do not carry out physical grounds-maintenance operations and do not accept referral fees or commissions from maintenance contractors.

2. Specialist Surveys & Legal Advice

Scope of Reviews & Inspections

Our Contract Checks, Grounds MOTs, and ongoing management inspections provide practical operational and commercial grounds consultancy. They do not constitute formal legal advice, regulated public-procurement legal sign-off, arboricultural tree-safety surveys, ecological assessments, or structural engineering inspections.

3. Client Instructions & Fees

Confirming Scope Before Work Commences

Submitting an enquiry, consultation request, or £79 Grounds Contract Check form does not take immediate payment. All instructions, deliverables, and fees are confirmed in writing before chargeable work commences. The basic Grounds Contract Check is fixed at £79 for the defined straightforward single-site desktop review, concise findings summary and 30-minute call; complex or wider reviews are separately quoted. Other published prices are starting prices, not universal fees for every site or project. Fees reflect site size, maintenance areas, complexity, number and location of sites, documentation, tender requirements, travel, reporting and support. A written quotation confirms inclusions, exclusions and the agreed fee before variable-scope work begins. Any additional work and associated costs must be agreed before proceeding. VAT treatment, travel expenses and standard turnaround times have not yet been published; the written quotation must confirm applicable VAT, any agreed expenses, delivery dates and the total payable. Monthly quotations must state the number of sites and visits, reporting, follow-up and support included, service limits and agreed fee.

4. Contractor Appointment

Client Decision-Making

Where we support specification writing or contractor procurement, the client organisation always retains the final decision on contractor selection, contract award, and legal execution. Selection is based on the client’s requirements, suitability, capability and evidence, not payment for inclusion. Relevant interests and potential conflicts must be disclosed and appropriately managed; contractor registration does not guarantee approval, invitations or work.
